NBAA-BACE Recap: Celebrations, Giveaways and All Things Business Aviation

The NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) was held Oct. 16 – 18, 2018 at the Orange County Convention Center and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) in Orlando, Florida. The show included an impressive static display of cutting-edge business aircraft, education sessions and more than 1,000 exhibitors, including Phillips 66® Aviation.

Booth visitors walked away with plenty of giveaways and also had the opportunity to play Sky High! Trivia and the larger-than-life Plinko, which was wildly popular. Each day, a grand prize winner was awarded in the daily Showcase Showdown. Grand prizes included an Apple Watch, iPhone 8 and MacBook.

Also at the booth, Phillips 66 Aviation honored two incredible organizations – Cutter Aviation and the Corporate Angel Network (CAN). This year marks Cutter's 90th year of providing sterling service to the aviation industry. Cutter Aviation is the oldest family-owned and operated FBO in America and is also the oldest Phillips 66 branded FBO in the network of 800-plus. To help celebrate Cutter’s 90th anniversary, the FBO gave away a brand new URAL motorcycle to one lucky winner, Keith Benson with Esterline Power Systems out of Buena Park, California.

And once again, Phillips 66 Aviation presented a $22,000 check to the Corporate Angel Network, along with co-sponsors Business & Commercial Aviation Magazine and Safe Flight Instrument Corporation. CAN is the only charitable organization in the U.S. whose sole mission is to help cancer patients access the best possible medical treatment by arranging free air travel to treatment centers across the country.

The donation is a part of Phillips 66 Aviation’s sponsorship of the Corporate Angel Award, a unique program that recognizes corporations and their flight departments that have demonstrated outstanding dedication as participants in CAN. The award recognizes four corporate flight departments each year. This year’s Corporate Angel Award recipients are ConocoPhillips, Honeywell, Ultimate Jet Charter and Dow Chemical.

A special “thank you” to the following Phillips 66 branded FBOs that served as co-exhibitors within the booth: Cutter AviationBusiness Jet CenterFontainebleau Aviation, Tulsair Beechcraft, DuPage Flight Center, Regional Jet CenterTri-City Aviation, and Texas Jet.
