Members of the Phillips 66® Aviation team recently attended the Sustainable Aviation Futures North America in San Francisco at the Intercontinental Hotel, December 8-9. Overall, the event showcased the current industry landscape, latest strategies for decarbonization, key industry challenges, and opportunities for airlines and fuel producers to align with more sustainable ideas and initiatives.
Phillips 66 Aviation was honored to be a Gold Sponsor, represented by David Stallwitz, Managing Director, Business Development and Kim Ruth, Unbranded Sales Representative.
The Phillips 66 booth featured multiple learning resources for attendees, including an AirPods giveaway, won by Jason Stevens, Director of Hydrogen Project Development & Execution of EDP Renewables.
This year, Sustainable Aviation Futures North America hosted over 80 speakers, promoting the development and adoption of practical solutions to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production. Throughout the show, attendees received over 20 hours of industry content, panels and keynotes, in addition to having the opportunity to network with 250 airlines, fuel producers, regulators, financiers and industry professionals within sustainable aviation community.
Each day featured a keynote, as well as panels that covered topics like regulation, policy and government initiatives; greener airline operations; the future of flight and new innovations; fleet management and aircraft renewal strategies; and several others.
As a leader in SAF, we are seeing the real effects of what sustainability in the aviation industry looks like. In fact, SAF has the potential to reduce carbon emissions generated by aircraft by up to 80% in comparison to the traditional jet fuels it will replace.
