Silverhawk aviation: midwestern hospitably, big city perks
Midwesterners are very often viewed as friendlier than your average American, and Silverhawk Aviation’s family of 80 employees continues to reinforce this positive stereotype, doing whatever it takes to provide their customers with a great experience from takeoff touchdown.
"We have a hometown setting here at Silverhawk that our customers appreciate," said Will Zimdars, Director of FBO Services. "It’s a nice place to stop, kick back and relax. Or if a customer needs a quick-turn, our staff are ready to safely and efficiently fuel them up and get them on their way."
Silverhawk opened its doors in 1991, starting out as a modest charter operation in Seward, Nebraska, with one aircraft and one pilot. Today, Silverhawk has spread its wings, moving to Lincoln and servicing Lincoln Municipal Airport (KLNK) offering Phillips 66 pre-blended Jet fuel and Avgas, a strong charter operation with a robust fleet of 14 turboprop and light jets, and best-in-class line and customer service. In addition Silverhawk Aviation is an FAA-certified repair station specializing in general aviation maintenance, repair, and upgrades as well as Phase inspections and routine maintenance.
Charter customers should have total piece of mind knowing Silverhawk earned the ARG/US Charter Evaluation and Qualification (CHEQ) Gold Rating. This third-party evaluation system looks at a number of factors including the safety history of a charter operator, liability insurance confirmation, pilot training, experience, certifications and type ratings.
Investing in Silverhawk’s Facility
Construction is currently underway that will double Silverhawk’s hangar space from 25,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet. Set to open in the spring of 2018, the new space will be used both for lease and transient aircraft.
The FBO is also investing $300,000 in a complete interior remodel which will also be complete in the spring of 2018. Upgrades will make the space more passenger friendly with additional office space, more amenities and ultimately more comfort for customers and flights that come through.
Introducing In-Flight Internet
Free Wi-Fi is a common offering in most businesses today, however it’s not always available in all aircraft. With minimal downtime Silverhawk’s avionics team can install in-flight internet options, allowing customers to stay connected for business needs or simply to surf the web whether on the ground or in the air.
"Adding Wi-Fi to older aircraft is a huge convenience for our customers that we’re happy to be able to provide," said Zimdars. "In general we do whatever it takes at our FBO, and we believe people matter. If it’s important to our customers, it’s important to us and I believe that shows in our growing business."
