HOUSTON (Jan. 18, 2022) – Phillips 66® Aviation, a national top supplier of jet fuels and avgas to private, commercial and military aviation, is proud to announce the winners of its second annual “Great WingPoints Giveaway” promotion.
The grand prize of 1 million bonus points has been awarded to cardholder, Jamie Stevens of West Paducah, KY and WingPoints-participating FBO, Greenwood Municipal Airport, located in Greenwood, IN. In addition, both Stevens and Greenwood Municipal Airport were each able to select one charity or organization to receive 1 million WingPoints.
“We are thrilled to officially announce our two WingPoints winners and highlight their chosen organizations that make a positive impact in the aviation community every day,” said Lindsey Grant, Manager, Phillips 66 Aviation. “Our Great WingPoints promotion continues to be a ‘great’ success and we look forward to further celebrating and rewarding our customers throughout the year ahead.”
As his chosen organization, Stevens selected EAA Chapter #807, located in Mayfield, KY, because of all the great ongoing work the chapter does to share the spirit of aviation within the community. The funds will be primarily used to provide free Young Eagle Flights to youth. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the EEA Young Eagles Program which has offered over two million free youth flights.
Although Stevens selected EAA Chapter #807 long before the devastating Dec. 10 tornado that swept through the Mayfield region, the organization truly deserved the recognition more than ever. When the disaster struck, several EAA #807 members outside the area organized relief supply and flights to Mayfield. A large percentage of members also volunteered unloading aircraft bringing supplies from across the country.
Rick Ferrill, who oversees Greenwood Municipal Airport selected Aeronautical Center of Technology, which supports six local school townships that provide opportunities for young students to become confident aviation professionals. Launched in 2020, the Aeronautical Center of Technology offers STEM education through aviation, accommodating 60 students per semester.
Pilots and FBOs used their Phillips 66 Aviation WingPoints® Rewards Card on valid fuel purchases and were automatically entered to win various prizes. Throughout the promotion period (June 1 – Aug. 31, 2021), monthly, weekly and instant prizes were awarded, as well as the grand prizes, for a total of 66 winners.
